Thanks to reading PHP 5 for Dummies I was able to follow along with the wordpress plugin tutorial at Asymptomatic
This was different to 2 months ago when I gave up on the same thing. Well, the book must teach you something eh?
Now for the test run of the Acropop Plugin as recreated by following Owen Winkler’s tutorial.
Let’s say I wanted a little pic of a fly-fisherman to pop up whenever I mentioned his noble art and you moused-over it. Well that’s what this plugin does. I bet you could find a use for it.
Pretty cool huh.
And now for the grand finale: fly-fishing

acropop, wordpress pluginEver ended up with 20, 30 or 50 or more drafts in your wordpress installation? Currently Wordpress forces you to delete them individually, which on a dialup is a slow process. Well, I had over 100 drafts sitting there, how do you think I felt? Looking forward to the task of deleting drafts from Wordpress one by one. Not!
But Ken Villines saves the day with a great wordpress plugin to bulk delete drafts from your wordpress installation. Suffice to say, plugin install 1 minute, deletion task over 1 minute and the plugins still there for later use. Brilliant!
The plugin also allows you to change the author and category of the draft without leaving draft control.
Kens batch delete wordpress plugin is named Draft Control and can be downloaded here
batch delete wordpress, wordpress pluginLooks like the next version of wordpress will be version 2.0 according to Skippy’s “wild speculation”, however from someone who has had his wordpress plugins included in the wordpress core, I would say there is a fair chance he’s got the pulse of things Wordpress.
Yes, Skippy’s wordpress database back up plugin will be included in the latest wordpress version and it looks like his wp-cron plug-in will be there too.
Way to go Skippy.
P.S I use some of Skippy’s plugins on this site and they are cool. Visit Skippy’s post about Wordpress 2.0
